I WILL NOT BE YOUR BURNING BUILDING!

I wrote this poem in a hurry,
I didn’t pick up the pen like I promised
So I raced across this page
Faster than any metal hunk carried on
Four wheels
Ever could
I'm faster than the fire blazing in your eyes
So I want you to know that I am sitting on the table,
Glossy wood surface against my thigh and
You can’t have it,
Because I AM FASTER
Than the destruction you cause
With your eyes;
I will not be your burning building
There are no ashes here on this counter top,
The four legs hold me up and leave my shins dangling off the side,
Is there such thing as a wooden stallion?
Because I AM FASTER THAN YOU
And you can't catch me.
I wrote this poem in a hurry, for
I AM IN A HURRY
And if it wasn't for this stallion
I would be lost into the flame of
You,
And my wings would be wasted to
You
“Where’s your cigarette?!”
My stallion exclaims, and I reply with
“I quit smoking when he left me in the dumpster.
Why smoke when I can have Gee?”
My table top stallion huffed as he trotted down the street, “Gee? Who is he?”
“A friend.” I say, “ a friend who wants to marry me.”
I wrote this poem in a hurry when I was rushing,
But now we slow to a walking pace,
And I hop down in my white gown
Forgetting about the haunting of you,
And staring into the eyes of he who
Sees pure beauty from me,
“What is a flame? I forgot”
