Parts of Her

Parts of her are shaved,

Toasty, warm scalp shining in the sun

As her confidence boosts to the sky,

However,

It began to rain

And rain

And rain

Until she finally slammed into the pavement,

Smashing the rock,

Cracking the cement,

Blood dripping and evaporating under the sun

That once shined her,

But now shuns her

Parts of her body are hairy,

Pale skin rooted with hair in places that society says

Are not lady-like;

The compliments can flood in all they want,

But it's difficult to beat the catastrophe of

Negative comments,

Negative gestures,

Negative thoughts;

What can she do?

How does she keep from drowning,

Keep from falling,

Keep from crashing?

All that was said was silence...
